The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) filed a lawsuit seeking to block the acquisition, arguing that it would create a monopolistic control over the gaming industry.

However, US District Judge Raymond Dearie ruled in favor of Microsoft and Activision, stating that the FTC failed to provide sufficient evidence to support its claims of anti-competitive behavior. Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision brings together two gaming powerhouses, with Activision being the publisher behind popular franchises such as Call of Duty, World of Warcraft, and Candy Crush.
