In recent weeks, speculation has swirled regarding the origins of the voice used by OpenAI’s ChatGPT, with some suggesting that it may have been modeled after the voice of Hollywood actress Scarlett Johansson. However, a new report has shed light on the matter, revealing that OpenAI did not copy Johansson’s voice for its AI language model.

However, according to the report, which cites sources familiar with the development of ChatGPT, OpenAI did not use Johansson’s voice or any audio samples of her voice in the training process. Instead, the AI language model was trained on a diverse dataset of text from various sources, allowing it to generate human-like responses without relying on specific voices or individuals.

“OpenAI’s ChatGPT was not modeled after Scarlett Johansson’s voice,” said a spokesperson for OpenAI. “Our AI language model is trained on text data from a wide range of sources, enabling it to understand and generate natural language responses across different contexts and topics.”

The report’s findings provide clarity amid the speculation surrounding ChatGPT’s voice and underline OpenAI’s commitment to ethical practices and responsible AI development.
