On Saturday, Former President Trump said his campaign got hacked after they received internal documents from an anonymous account.
A report by the Microsoft said that the campaign led by Trump cited in describing the hack details “Iranian cyber-enabled influence operations” in the last three U.S. election cycles. This report was released on Friday Microsoft’s threat analysis centre. It described the significant influence activity by Iranian actors over the past several months.
In this Microsoft writes that the recent activity suggests that the Iranian regime along with the Kremlin may have equally engaged in 2024 elections.
For this, Steven Cheung, Trump’s campaign communications director, said through an email that the documents which were found hacked, were found from the foreign sources hostile to the United states which were illegal. Those documents were predetermined to be related with the 2023 elections. It also sow chaos throughout the democratic process.

Cheung also mentioned in his email that any media or news outlet who reprint the documents or internal communication are doing the bidding of America’s enemies and giving the all what exactly they want.
He linked the timing of the Pennsylvania rally shooting that wounded the former president’s right ear with the timing of an unrelated Iranian plot to assassinate Trump.
This event highlights the susceptibility of campaigns to cyber threats a growing concern, in times. The 2016 election faced controversy due to the hacking of the Democratic National Committees emails leading to increased worries about cybersecurity.
Experts caution that with the election campaigns from all sides could become targets for cyberattacks whether from foes, hacktivists or other malicious individuals. The accusation by the Trump campaign is expected to prompt discussions on data security and the potential consequences of cyberattacks on democratic processes.

As investigations progress the Trump campaign will need to evaluate the impact and enhance its cybersecurity measures. This incident is likely to spark debates on the importance of cybersecurity in elections and the necessity for defenses against threats.
Currently efforts are focused on securing the campaigns resources and preventing incidents as preparations for the presidential race intensify. The results of this investigation could have repercussions not for the Trump campaign but also, for the broader political scene approaching the 2024 election.
