In a significant development for the Australian electric vehicle market, MG Motor Australia has just unveiled its latest offering – the MG ZS EV Plus, touted as the country’s most affordable all-wheel-drive electric vehicle (EV). With this announcement, MG is set to reshape the EV landscape in Australia, making clean and sustainable transportation more accessible to a wider audience.

The MG ZS EV Plus builds upon the success of its predecessor, the MG ZS EV, which made its debut in the Australian market in 2021. Priced competitively at $45,990 drive-away, this all-new electric SUV is poised to attract environmentally conscious consumers who have been hesitant to make the switch to electric due to cost concerns.

One of the standout features of the MG ZS EV Plus is its all-wheel-drive (AWD) system, making it the most affordable AWD electric vehicle in Australia. This AWD configuration not only provides enhanced traction and stability but also allows for a more versatile driving experience. Whether it’s navigating urban streets or venturing off-road, the MG ZS EV Plus is designed to handle it all.

“We are thrilled to introduce the MG ZS EV Plus to the Australian market,” said Mark Vukoja, CEO of MG Motor Australia. “We believe that electric vehicles should be accessible to everyone, and the MG ZS EV Plus embodies our commitment to that vision. It’s not only affordable but also offers the versatility of all-wheel drive, which is perfect for Australian conditions.”

The MG ZS EV Plus boasts a spacious interior with seating for five and a generous cargo space of 470 liters, making it a practical choice for families and adventure enthusiasts alike. The vehicle is powered by a 44.5 kWh lithium-ion battery, providing an estimated range of up to 263 kilometers on a single charge. For added convenience, the ZS EV Plus supports fast charging, which can replenish the battery to 80% capacity in just 40 minutes.

In terms of performance, the MG ZS EV Plus features a 105 kW electric motor delivering 353 Nm of torque to all four wheels. This powertrain offers brisk acceleration and a smooth, quiet ride, making it a compelling option for those seeking an engaging driving experience.

Furthermore, MG Motor Australia is committed to supporting the growth of the electric vehicle ecosystem in the country. They have announced plans to expand their charging infrastructure and collaborate with partners to ensure convenient access to charging stations for MG ZS EV Plus owners.

The MG ZS EV Plus is expected to hit showrooms across Australia in early 2024, and pre-orders are already open. With its attractive price point and AWD capabilities, it’s poised to become a game-changer in the Australian electric vehicle market, encouraging more consumers to make the transition to cleaner, greener transportation.

As the demand for electric vehicles continues to rise globally, MG’s introduction of the ZS EV Plus demonstrates their commitment to providing affordable, eco-friendly options to consumers in Australia. With this move, MG Motor Australia is not only competing in the electric vehicle market but is also driving positive change towards a sustainable future for the country’s automotive industry.
