The blue checkmark, often known as a “verified badge,” has been a symbol of authenticity and credibility on the platform, but the introduction of this option now gives users the ability to decide whether they want to display it or keep it discreet.

The blue checkmark was initially introduced as a means of verifying the authenticity of public figures, celebrities, influencers, and notable personalities on the platform. It aimed to distinguish legitimate accounts from imposters, promoting a more secure and reliable environment for users to engage with content.

Any account found to be in violation of the guidelines may have its blue checkmark permanently revoked.
